Are leather products that come into direct contact with your skin safe on a daily basis?
Recently, heavy metals such as chromium, formaldehyde, TBT, dimethyl furate, etc. in almost all leather products used in our daily life.
There was a shocking news report that a large amount of a class 1 carcinogen was detected.
In particular, it is a reality that small leather products such as wallets and cases do not even have labeling of raw materials and check for conformity with hazardous substances.
Also, it is unfortunate that leather produced with heavy metal chrome is being used indiscriminately due to the convenience of processing.
How to choose a safe leather?
First you need to make sure it's a 'vegetable' leather.
Vegetable leather is a leather made by tanning with vegetable tannins obtained from nature in a traditional way of processing leather since before the Middle Ages. It can be produced in two weeks by using heavy metal chrome, but vegetable leather that does not use any artificial chemicals takes a long time of three months and almost all processes are carried out by human hands, so it is classified as the highest quality leather.

There are many leather workshops these days, and interest in leather has also increased. There are so many leathers on the market.
The Verapelle certificate can only be used on leather produced in the 20 tanneries of Italy.
If you do not specify the exact manufacturer (tannery) and type of leather, it may be counterfeit or negative route.
This is a case of obtaining a certificate and using it illegally. The leather is also likely to be low-quality leather of unknown origin.

Unchanging leather is not vegetable!
Full-grain vegetable leather uses only the top layer of leather. No coating on the surface
Aging progresses gradually by friction, sunlight, oil from the hands, etc., and it becomes stylish.
Chemically processed chrome leather or coated on the surface (a lot of harmful substances come out during this process)
Split leather (strictly speaking, it is the remaining residue of full-grain leather) cannot express these changes.
